CHEESEHEADS: THE DOCUMENTARY - JULY 20Cheeseheads: The Documentary at the Seymour Museum - JULY 20

On Thursday, July 20 at 7:00 the Seymour Community Museum will host a screening of “Cheeseheads: The Documentary”, a humorous and informative documentary that delves into many fascinating aspects of Wisconsin in search of the deeper meaning of being a Cheesehead.

Particular to Seymour in the film is an informative interview about the history of Hamburger Charlie & Burger Fest, and includes visuals of the town welcome sign, the Charlie statue & archival photos from the museum.

Producer John Mitchell will be present to explain about the making of the film and to answer questions. Special guest, former Green Bay Packer Chester Marcol, who appears in the film, will be on hand to sign autographs and will have copies of his book “Alive & Kicking" available for purchase.
The documentary is about two hours long. The program is open to the public at no cost. Donations are appreciated. Refreshments will be available.

    About The Film:

Part travelogue, part human analysis, and fully All-American, CHEESEHEADS: THE DOCUMENTARY takes viewers on a humorous and intimate journey through factories, farms, museums, breweries and boardrooms in order to explore Cheesehead culture and the people who have taken that moniker from local to global as a proud symbol of Wisconsin.

After two decades away, filmmaker John Mitchell returns to Wisconsin, the place of his youth, to discover the deeper meaning of being a Cheesehead. While many associate the term with sports, cheese and beer, Mitchell’s film highlights the hard-working and generous people behind the once harsh now affectionate term, who embody the very values on which the heartland of America was built.

Featured in the documentary is actor Chris Mulkey (Whiplash, Captain Phillips), Miss American 2012 Laura Kaeppeler, US Senator Ron Johnson, Governor Scott Walker, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, and Outdoor Wisconsin host Dan Small, with special appearances by professional football legends Chester Marcol, and Dave Robinson.
